Aníbal has over 23 years of experience in international commercial and investment arbitration under all major rules. He is a director of the New York International Arbitration Center, an immediate past member of the Center’s executive committee, and the immediate past chair of the International Law Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He is also a member of he firm’s management committee. Aníbal’s cases typically involve Latin America, conflicting legal cultures, or complex factual and legal situations requiring deep analytical skills. In 2019, Legal 500 Latin America named him one of 13 leading international arbitration lawyers. Licensed in several US jurisdictions, England and Wales (solicitor), and Spain, Aníbal has represented clients in disputes governed by the laws of more than 25 nations around the globe. Those disputes covered a broad range of industries, such as construction, oil and gas, mining and natural resources, power generation and distribution, fishing, food processing, banking and private equity, shipping, sports, project finance, technology, and telecommunications.
